Who Are We?
“It Starts with Us”
Detroit Dance Coalition (DDC) started with a core team of business professionals in the dance community who collectively, came together to carry out this mission set forth by the late Gene Bond: to promote, educate and increase health awareness. The dance community is the foundation of the organization and has accepted the challenge to use the genre of dance styles as a means to bridge the communities in the Metropolitan Detroit area.
We are a non-profit organization with the intent to become an active catalyst within the community to assist our youth, young adults and seniors. Membership consists of volunteers assigned to working committees that govern

DDC has established and implemented community projects that are designed to build leadership skills, blueprint success, offer tutoring, job skills, health screenings, and dance classes that promote fitness.

- To help people enjoy a higher quality of life via community support teams.
- To unite diverse communities in the Metropolitan area by sponsoring social networking opportunities.
- To inspire youths to dream and focus on personal goals.
- To encourage young adults to work together on community projects.
- To educate communities by sponsoring seminars proactively addressing health topics and screenings for youths, young adults and senior.
- To teach dance as a form of exercise while promoting health awareness.
